Trustly is one of the better-known names in open-banking payments — but it isn’t available in New Zealand. It’s a large, reputable European company that operates across Europe and North America, and while it’s a genuine, widely used method in those markets, there are no NZ banks in its network. So a Kiwi player can’t use it to cash out. This page explains what Trustly is, why it doesn’t reach NZ, and what to use instead.
It is written to inform, not to promote. Nothing here recommends gambling or any particular operator. “Trustly” is used for identification only.

What Trustly Is
Trustly is a Swedish fintech, founded in 2008, that pioneered open-banking payments — paying a merchant (or receiving money back) directly from your bank account, without a card or a separate wallet. You log in through your own online banking to authorise the transfer, and Trustly handles the connection securely in the background. It’s well-regarded, connects to a very large number of banks, and is a mainstream payment option across the markets it serves.
Importantly, and unlike some bank-payment services (Euteller, POLi), Trustly does support withdrawals as well as deposits in those markets — it’s a genuine two-way method where it operates. That’s a real point in its favour; it just isn’t a point that helps a New Zealand player.
Why It Doesn’t Reach New Zealand
Its coverage is Europe and North America. Trustly is strong across Europe and has been expanding in the US and Canada. New Zealand is in neither region, and NZ banks aren’t connected to its network. There’s no NZD support.NZ open banking is new. New Zealand only launched its regulated open-banking framework from late 2025, phasing in through 2026 — and it’s served by local providers, not Trustly. So the type of service Trustly offers does exist in NZ now, but through different, home-grown options.
In short: Trustly is a solid method — just not one a New Zealand player can reach.
What NZ Players Use to Cash Out
For a New Zealand player, the methods designed for this market are the ones to use:
Bank transfer — straight to your NZ bank account, best for larger cash-outs.A Visa or Mastercard debit card — linked to your bank, widely accepted. An NZD e-wallet (Skrill, Neteller) — the fastest fiat route, with a native NZD balance so there’s no conversion.
Each is available in New Zealand, supports New Zealand dollars, and can actually receive a payout.
Playing From New Zealand
Whatever method you choose, the operator behind it matters most. From 1 December 2026, under the Online Casino Gambling Act 2026, only operators licensed by the Department of Internal Affairs (DIA) may lawfully offer online casino games to New Zealanders. All online gambling is strictly R18. A casino listing a method that doesn’t operate in NZ is a sign its cashier isn’t tailored to local players. Our casino bonuses guide explains how offers work.
Staying in Control: Responsible Play in Aotearoa
Whichever method you use, the fundamentals are the same: set limits before you play and never gamble with money you can’t afford to lose. Regulated operators must provide control tools such as deposit limits, reality checks and self-exclusion. See our self-exclusion tools guide.
Free, confidential help is available in New Zealand at any time — you do not need to be in crisis to use it.

Can I use Trustly in New Zealand?
Not currently. Trustly operates in Europe and North America and doesn’t connect NZ banks, so a New Zealand player can’t use it. It’s a legitimate method — just not available here.
Is Trustly safe and reputable?
Yes — Trustly is a well-established Swedish open-banking company founded in 2008, widely used across Europe and North America. The issue for NZ players is availability, not legitimacy.
Does Trustly support withdrawals?
In the markets it serves, yes — it’s a genuine two-way method for both deposits and withdrawals. That doesn’t help NZ players, though, since it isn’t available here.
What should I use instead?
For withdrawals, a bank transfer, a Visa or Mastercard debit card, or an NZD e-wallet like Skrill or Neteller — all available locally and designed for NZ players.
Where can I get help if gambling becomes a problem?
Free, confidential support is available in New Zealand through the Gambling Helpline Aotearoa on 0800 654 655. Support is available at any time, and you do not need to be in crisis to reach out.
