Online casino brands come and go, and 2025–2026 has been an unusually busy period for New Zealand players. Some operators shut down completely, some pulled out of the New Zealand market while staying open elsewhere, and a few never accepted Kiwi players in the first place despite showing up in search results.
This page keeps a plain, factual record of the brands that were previously covered on this site and are no longer a realistic option for players in Aotearoa. It explains what happened to each one, who owned it, and what it means if you still had an account. Nothing here is a recommendation to gamble anywhere else.

Why so many casinos are closing or leaving New Zealand
Three things happened at once. First, New Zealand moved from an unregulated offshore market to a licensed one: under the online casino legislation passed in 2026, only operators holding a New Zealand licence are meant to offer online casino games to people in the country once the new regime takes full effect, and the first licences are limited in number. Operators that did not plan to apply have quietly stopped taking Kiwi sign-ups.
Second, several mid-sized European operators ran into commercial trouble. Genesis Global (Casino Gods and its sister brands) became insolvent at the end of 2022, Two Shepherds Ltd (Casigo, Captain Spins, Jonny Jackpot) closed in March 2026, and Karamba’s owner wound the brand down in August 2026.
Third, big groups consolidated. Betsson moved its New Zealand customers from Guts and Rizk into a single brand, and Casino Rewards closed its group brands to new New Zealand sign-ups from 1 May 2026. Casinos that have closed completely
VegasKings
VegasKings was operated by Markor Technology under Gibraltar and UK licences. The brand went inactive during 2025 and the domain now shows a closure notice for a sister brand. Any balances should have been returned when the site closed; if you did not receive yours, the operator’s licence holder remains responsible for player funds.
Conquestador
Conquestador belonged to Mobile Incorporated Ltd. The casino stopped taking play in March 2026 after its licence was not renewed, and its affiliate programme was shut on 1 April 2026. The site no longer accepts logins.
Casino Gods
Casino Gods was one of the Genesis Global brands (alongside Genesis Casino, Sloty, Spinit and others). Genesis Global became insolvent in December 2022 and the Malta Gaming Authority suspended its licence in January 2023. The Casino Gods domain has since been taken over by an unrelated website, so anything published there now has nothing to do with the original operator.
Karamba
Karamba was originally an Aspire Global brand and later moved under White Hat Gaming. On 24 August 2026 the operator ceased operations and posted a closure notice; customer balances were refunded to the original payment methods. New Zealand players who still see the Karamba name in old listings should treat it as closed.
All Jackpots Casino
All Jackpots was part of the Jackpot Factory / Digimedia family that also ran All Slots. The brand is listed by industry directories as no longer open for business, and its former players were pointed to sister brands in the same family.
Casigo
Casigo, Captain Spins and Jonny Jackpot were all run by Two Shepherds Ltd. The company closed its casinos on 11 March 2026 and surrendered its Malta licence; its UK-facing sites followed on 27 March 2026.
Captain Spins
Captain Spins closed on the same date as Casigo. Its website now redirects visitors to a closure notice. There is no successor brand for New Zealand players.
Jonny Jackpot
Jonny Jackpot was the third Two Shepherds brand and closed on 11 March 2026. The closure notice remains on the site. Player funds were handled under the Malta Gaming Authority’s player-protection rules before the licence was surrendered.
Dunder
Dunder left the UK market in 2020 and shut its Swedish operation in August 2025. The site now states that the casino is closed. It was never licensed for New Zealand and no longer accepts players from anywhere.
Jackpot Molly
Jackpot Molly, a Grace Media brand licensed in Gibraltar, closed in February 2026. Industry trackers list it as permanently closed, and its promotional pages have been removed.
Casinos that withdrew from New Zealand
Guts
Guts is a Betsson brand and still operates in several markets. New Zealand was not one of them after 2 December 2025, when Betsson moved its Guts customers in New Zealand to a single group brand, SuperCasino. Existing Guts logins from New Zealand no longer work; any balance was carried across during the migration.
Rizk
Rizk followed the same path as Guts. The brand remains live in Europe under a Malta licence, but its New Zealand customers were migrated to SuperCasino on 2 December 2025. If you had a Rizk account, the terms of that migration apply rather than the old Rizk terms.
Casinos that do not accept New Zealand players
These brands are still operating, but they either block New Zealand or should be avoided on licensing grounds.
Royal Panda
Royal Panda is part of the LeoVegas group (owned by MGM Resorts) and is licensed in Malta and Ontario. Its terms explicitly exclude New Zealand, so registrations from a New Zealand address are refused.
Gate 777
Gate 777 is a White Hat Gaming brand aimed at the UK, Canada and parts of Europe. New Zealand is not a supported market, and several directories list the brand as terminated for other regions as of mid-2025.
Lumi Casino
Lumi is a Finland-focused “pay and play” casino, also from White Hat Gaming. It does not target New Zealand and does not support New Zealand banking rails.
Sunrise Slots
Sunrise Slots runs on RealTime Gaming software without a disclosed licence. Player forums carry warnings about unpaid withdrawals. Whatever the marketing says, an unlicensed casino gives you no regulator to complain to, which is the single most important reason to avoid it.
What to do if a casino you used has closed
Withdraw first, ask questions later. As soon as an operator announces a closure or a market exit, request a full withdrawal to a payment method in your own name. Licensed operators must ring-fence player balances, but the process is far simpler while the site is still live.

Complain to the licensing regulator, not to New Zealand authorities. Offshore casinos are supervised by the body that issued their licence (for example the Malta Gaming Authority or the Kahnawake Gaming Commission). New Zealand’s Department of Internal Affairs does not regulate offshore operators and cannot recover funds from them.

Frequently asked questions
Can I still log in to a casino that has closed?
Usually not. Once an operator shuts down, the login system is taken offline within days. If a balance is owed to you, contact the licence holder in writing and copy the regulator that issued the licence.
Will I get my money back if a casino closes?
Licensed operators in Malta, Gibraltar, the Isle of Man and similar jurisdictions must keep player funds separate from company money, so balances are normally refunded. With unlicensed sites there is no such protection, which is why licence status matters more than any bonus.
Why did Guts and Rizk stop accepting New Zealand players?
